Dr. Saroja Asthana welcomed board members and provided an overview of the Mulshi Group of Institutes (MGI), emphasizing its vision, mission, and strategic objectives in education and research. The board reviewed and unanimously approved the minutes of the previous meeting, discussing progress on action items. A stakeholder survey analysis was presented, highlighting key areas for improvement and strategic growth opportunities.
Strategic priorities were discussed, focusing on quality enhancement, industry connections, research impact, internationalization, and innovation in teaching and learning. Dr. Dwivedi proposed an 11-point institutional growth strategy, including faculty accountability, increased salary packages for top students, and ensuring all faculty hold PhDs. Mr. Udai Upendra emphasized securing NBA accreditation and pursuing global accreditations within seven years, along with integrating digital economy, AI, and data analytics into the curriculum. Mr. Sanjay Patwardhan stressed the importance of AACSB and EQUIS accreditations and incorporating Business Analytics and AI. Mr. Shirish Kulkarni recommended increasing MGI’s social media engagement.
Implementation strategies for MGI’s strategic plan were discussed, focusing on communication, key performance indicators, and stakeholder engagement. Mr. Suresh Amin highlighted the need for a detailed growth roadmap with clear short- and long-term goals. International collaborations were reviewed, with updates on MoUs, research partnerships, faculty exchanges, and guest lectures by international experts. Research initiatives included faculty publications, student conference participation, and new book proposals, with an emphasis on NEP 2020 alignment.
MGI announced the International Conference on E-Commerce (ICECOM-2025), covering e-commerce technology, sustainability, social commerce, and global markets. Dr. Mahendra Ramdasi suggested adding a track on AI-driven business models. Placement updates showed 60% completion, with discussions on enhancing student competitiveness, career development, and industry partnerships.
Curriculum updates focused on aligning with industry trends, including EdTech, Industry 4.0, Business Analytics, AI, digital communication, and the digital economy. Mr. Udai Upendra proposed online executive education programs, while Mr. Suresh Amin recommended TiE memberships for entrepreneurial students. A branding video was presented, with suggestions for a compelling tagline and improved marketing strategies.
The board emphasized strengthening faculty-student industry connections, expanding MGI’s social media presence, enhancing student development programs, and establishing an incubation center. Key action points included a strategic roadmap for growth, curriculum alignment with NEP 2020, international accreditation efforts, and stronger industry collaboration.
